Mona McGlade - Northen Ireland (Learning Disabilities)

Mona McGlade

Mona began working in the Voluntary & Community Sector some eight years ago.  In that time she has held positions with five charitable organisations and worked with many community groups.  The charities Mona has worked with include: Gingerbread NI, PlayBoard, Voluntary Service Bureau, Ballymena Community Forum and The Appleby Trust.

She started her working life as an accounts assistant and over the years developed skills which led to her becoming a finance officer with the Voluntary Service Bureau.  She has also worked as a Social Firm Manager working with people with Learning Disabilities.  Throughout her career Mona has completed several funding applications, produced good practice guidelines on financial procedures and helped develop community groups.

Mona is from a small town land in Co. Derry called Anaghoirsh, the birthplace of Seamus Heaney.  In her spare time she enjoys practicing and teaching yoga. She also supports and attends GAA (Gaelic football) matches.
